shouldn't matter what year, as long as its a 2 valve engine. also shouldn't matter if its an xr200 or xr200r. i would recommend the "ebay cam" on ebay, as i was told its a little higher performance.

I used a 91 xr 200 cam in mine,works great!! Im sure newer and older ones will work also. I think the dual cam heads were made in like 84-85 but not sure.
