Electric ATC70?

I've got an ATC70 rolling frame in my garage that I've been wishing I could rebuild and get running, but the cost ends up being more than just buying a running one. Meanwhile, my 2-year old niece has ridden the wheels off my son's old powerwheels motorcycle. (why do they make the wheels out of plastic anyway?) So I was having a completely ridiculous idea: could I take the motor out of the powerwheels and put it on the ATC70 frame? This would be a way to get the 2-year-old riding a 3-wheeler, but hopefully at speeds under 5mph.

Has anyone tried anything like this? I haven't taken the motor out of the powerwheels yet, so I don't even know what it all looks like inside.

each of the rear wheels on those things has its own motor would be quite a bit of fab work and then I dont know it those motors could move the weight of the 70 with a person on it....good luck

Yeah, the 70 is a lot heavier, that's for sure. The powerwheels probably weighs 30 pounds with the batteries. I was thinking there was only one drive wheel on that thing though. I'm not ready to take it apart yet, so I can't say if its one motor or two...

You could use a starter from a car.

MIK6, do you have any pics to share? How fast does it go? How big a battery does it require?

Firehart, while the car starter would have no problem moving the trike, they're not designed to run for sustained periods, and I think it would burn out.
