I was wondering how easy it is, and how I would go about cleaning the carb on my 84 200m. i dont know if it actually needs a cleaning, but here are some of the things its been doing.
1. When it sits overnight, it will drip small amounts of gas.
2. It stalls after idling (sp) for over a minute.
3. It is extremely hard to start. It usually takes me about 8 to 12 pulls without, or with the choke. It will start easy when it hasnt been ridden for about a week, but when its warmed up, it will NOT start, unless i use my electric start.
Thanks for the help

I assume the 200m is the same carb as my 200es. Go to bikebandit.com and look up your year and find the carb schematics (just follow the instructions on the website.) This way you'll get a feel for where things go in there. There's not much to it. Just disconnect carb from cylinder and rear boot (only bolted with 2 bolts at cylinder) --move the carb so you can get to the 3 screws on the bottom (float bowl) and undo them to pull it off. Clean everything with carb cleaner and as for adjustments, I'm still trying to figure things out myself.

I have an old junked up 84 200es parts bike also, and I was wondering if any of the parts off of it would be interchangable with my 84 200m (carb hopefully).
Thanks

seems like the 200 from the same year would be the same motor. I could be wrong.

do you have the rear fenders for the es?

I'm not sure. Its been sitting somewhere on the back of my dads property in the bush for about 5 or 6 years now. When i go see him, I'll take a look at it. I went to check it out a while back. i forget if it had the fenders on it though. Even if it did, they would be in bad condition.

are you looking for es fenders? if so, i will try and take some pics of them, if you want (pending whether (sp) or not they are even there)

yeah, but only if they're in better shape than mine. I know it's a crapshoot but anytime someone parts one out, might as well ask.

i'm not parting anything out, i'm just seeing if i could help a fellow triker. I'll ask my dad if he doesnt want them anymore, seeing how he already has a perfectly running 250es, and if he doesnt, i'll take some pics, and maybe we could make a deal or somehing...."make a deal" :Pimp That made me feel like some kind of Mob boss or a Pimp or something...lol

Hey from trailprotrailpro description it sounds like the needle needs to be replaced and the seat in the carb.

so a regular cleaning would not help it at all then?

u can try cleaning it first but i dont think thats trailprotrailpro problem. I think its trailprotrailpro needle and seat. Where is trailprotrailpro carb leaking from.

It is leaking from some little screw-type thing near the bottom of the carb..i dont know what its called. it doesnt pour out either...just little drip-drops....like 3 drops in an hour..nothing big, i just dont want anything getting bad

well u should try cleaning it and then if that doesnt work then trailprotrailpro carb needs to be rebuilt which is not expensive at all.

I'm pretty sure they will have one at my local shop www.royaldistributing.com I find its good for people in ontario. They have a store like 45 mins away from me....but thats a last resort, because i am very cheap, and am gonna try to get the stuff i need off the old 200es... I'm most likely going to have to buy a carb kit though.

Would a carb kit for a 80-86 185/200 work on my 200m? cuz thats the only thing i think that i can find that would fit.
Oh yea, and sorry about all my newb-ish tech questions. I know nothing about fixing quads, or three wheelers. When I got my trike, it did not run, and with a little help, i managed to get it going. I learn to fix stuff as I go.

[quote="Psyonyde"]It is leaking from some little screw-type thing near the bottom of the carb..

Sounds like your overflow screw. If that is your only problem, take it out and clean everything up. Some overflow screws have a very small o ring seal behind them that usually gets torn up after a while. You don`t need to remove the carb to work on that. You could even just try a new screw from another trike or bike just to see what would happen.
