If the plugs are the same, are CDI units interchangeable? I have an 87 250es and there are lots of CDI units on ebay that look the exact same as mine but they are for different models. Some are a lot cheaper than others so I was wondering if they were interchangeable.

Check out bike bandit.com and see if the part numbers match up. They may look identical, but that dosnt always mean it is the same. The spark plug has nothing to do with what CDI is what. I would start there.

I'm sorry my post was not very clear. The plugs I was referring to were the plugs on the CDI itself. Thanks for the advice.
