question for experienced 350x owners

Will 85-86 carriers and axles interchange. What else fits. I think 300ex is the same. Any input.

everything from a 300ex will fit for sure. the double row carriers are the exactly the same as a 86 350x. i have a 300ex Lonestar +4 axle in my 350x you just need the 300ex hubs and sprocket to go with it.

Max - if it is an 85 model - you will need the 86 rear sprocket and sprocket bolts from Honda. the 85 bolts are not counter sunk into the sprocket like the 86 model - and will rub on the new carrier. 300EX carriers will work doing what I have said above.

Call me if you need more info - I ran into this on my 85 model and got it all to work with a 300EX carrier.

To answer your original question - No - the 85 and 86 carriers are not a direct swap.
