ok, so I picked up an 85 250R for 500 and a xbox 360, nice trike i was very happy. next day i see an 85 atc 70 for sale for 200 from the same guy. head on over and its very clean with new tires and original seat and plastics. Perfect for my 4 yr old. No spark he says, I figure something probablly simple so I tell him i'll give him 150.00 for it. Deal! Well i get home and pull the tank and plastics. somone had done a number on the wiring from the switch to the coil and down to stator. i've looked at the wiring diagram but kinda still confused about one thing. I have it wired from the hot on switch to coil to black wire from stator. the ground from switch goes to ground at coil mount. what is the dark green or the two-tone green wires comming out of the stator for??? the wiring diagram shows dark green from stator to a black box with green going to neutral switch.

i;m trying to figure out if theres something missing or if i have it wired wrong.
i thru a ohm meter on the coil and got 1.4 out of the hot wire to ground. but i get nothing from plug wire to hot wire on coil.
I'm hoping someone can say hey dummy you need to have this hooked up. If not i'll try buying another coil. could the points be causing no spark?

Off the top of my head, I think the dark green one is not used (use this on for lights etc...) and the one for the neutral swich is just an earth as such for a neutral indicator light (C70 etc.....) I think for a long time (15 years or so) my atc70 never had a working kill switch, just the black wire from the stator/points running straight to the coil. Hope this helps
