Yes I know their have allot of posts about mixing.
I'm new to the 2 stroke thing.
My tri well have new rings in it.
1. Whats a good brand to use?
2. Whats a good ratio to use?
3. I'll be using a 86 yz80(26mm) carb compared to the stock 24mm. Well I need to change the jet? It has a 270 in it.
4. How do I setup the carb for the ratio? 175(24mm) tri-moto with a 86 yz80(26mm) carb
5. Can I run synthetic with my new rings or do I need to use straight 2 stroke oil?
Here's a idea post a 2 stoke oil/gas tech help on 3ww. With every question that you need to know about 2 stoke oil/gas mixing.

I run 32:1 with klotz in my tri z. As for the new ring break in, if you use non synthetic oil your rings will seat faster. I'd run a tank or 2 with normal oil and then switch to a good synthetic oil. To mix i'd buy a ratio rite, it only costs a few bucks and you'll always get the right amount of oil for the amount of gas.

I use Honda HP2 oil right now at 42/1 ratio. As soon as I run out I am going to switch to Blue Marble at a 50/1 mix I think that is what TimSr said he ran. Everyone seems to be impressed with the blue marble oil.

well...i use a valvoline oil it is a multipurpous and it carbons real fast but if you keep things clean and dont putt around alot you dont foul plugs, and i mix 32:1 and i have always mixed that and a trick for getting oil get a glass jar or a clear plastic cup and get a pyrex measuring cup and measure out exactly 4 oz. and pour it into your clear cup or jar and then mark it at the top after you let it all settle if it is glas scratch it with a diamond or a dremel or something so you know :D 8) :-D

Actually Smokin', I have a long history with BelRay MC1 at 50:1. I just started the Blue Marble stuff, and have not run it long enough to have any conclusive opinions on it yet, but its looking extremely promising!
As for top end (rings/cylinder) break-in, use the same mixture you always run it. Your break time will easily be completed in less than 30 minutes regardless of oil type.
Keep some specifics in mind about break ins. Top end break ins merely seat the rings which is a fast process. If you are breaking in a crank, expect more time. If you have a 4 stroke, and are breaking in cams and valves as well, expect the most time.
Thats why non one can answer the "how long to break in" question without knowing specifically what it is that you are breaking in.

Well I bought Honda GN2. After I use that up I'm going to switch over to synthetic. I also got ratio rite. I'm going to mix it at 32:1
They were going to charge me $40 for rings  and $38  at another yamaha shop. So I said kiss my ass. So I'm going to order them from Dennis Kirk.

Here is my input :D
I run AMSoil 50:1 it cost with shipping $6 for 32oz and it is full synthetic. Remember, AMSoil is the first in 1970's to produce synthetic. 33 yrs, they are doing something right 8)
