Might as well throw in bearings and seals.

Anyone know what number bearing fits the stock 1985 atc 250R housing or seal MM dimensions?? Are thera 6000 or 6008 etc? I get them at a bearing warehouse.

What do you do to keep the R axle and hubs nice and tigtht and working well. Any tips or problem areas there??

One hub is already a tad loose, is that a spline worn out thing on the hub and axle usually??

REAR BEARINGS FOR 85 AND 86 250R'S # 6908

JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU KEEP AXLE NUTS AND HUB NUTS TIGHT!!! ,just because there is a kotter key in them does not mean they will stay tight recheck them periodiclly

I'm south of Boston about 45 minutes, you're are more than welcome to whip it around here sometime - but the 200X will do the least damage to the track. Gimme about another month to finish making all these dam 3 wheelers running.

Anyone know why the 250R hubs get loose??

Is it a shoulder thing? or do the splines in both the axle and hub wear out?

When my hubs used to get loose i found out the nuts holding on the tire wore down and started to like create friction i dont no what made it happen i just tightened them up

The splines in the hubs become wore and get loose on the axle no matter how tight you make the center nut. My solution on my '85 250R was to remove both hubs, mix up some Marine Tex and put it on the axle splines, then slide the hubs back on,tighten and let the Marine-Tex harden overnight. No more loose hubs for thye past year. It takes a rubber to nock the hubs back off. I was almost going to buy new parts and thought of the Marine Tex thing and have not had one problem with the hubs being loose again.
