Just Picked Up A 1986 ATC200X

Wow, 3-wheeling sure is different and fun! I just brought home my first 3-wheeler. Its a beat up old '86 Honda ATC200X but its all there and runs and drives okay. The only thing is that it smokes like CRAZY!!!! Clouds of blue-tinted white smoke. Anyone know what the culprit may be? The motor seems to make good power, and it starts right up.

If anyone can offer some advice, that'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks --Matt :beer

I would assume its buring oil and the culprit behind this would be worn piston

rings. To be honest I'd get the top end freshened up

Where could I find parts for this trike? I wonder if some engine restore may help it for a short-term fix.

smoke means oil in the cylinder.do a top end refresh,dont try to use a auto store quick fix,wont work anyway.piston with rings and a gasket set at a minimum.look its 23 years old and shes tired.give her what she needs and youll be happy,very happy.do a cure in a bottle and youll be sad,very sad.less than a hundred dollars and a couple hours of your time and it will be done.not that hard,just follow the manual and take your time.good luck.

yup get a manual for your bike and $200 together and you will be verry impressed with your bike and your new abilities. Ohh and welcome to the board!!

Sounds like worn piston and rings. Top-end jobbies are fairly cheap, and worth it on a 23yr old machine. Send the head out to get he valves lapped and new valve seals installed also while your in there.
