i was taking the starter off and broke the two bolts on top off in crank case cover. do you think i can get them out with an easy out or possbly just drill them out?

how far did they breal off? at the head? are these the long botls and if so, is the shaft still in the hole? if so, only way is to pull the motor appart and get the bolts out using vise grips on the shafts. if they are the short ones, you can jsut drill and tape new hoels right in the broken bolts. if they are the long one snad broke off at the threads, you still have to pull the motor appart to drill and tap new holes.

it's a pain either way. good luck.

there about 2.5 or 3 in and they broke off at the beginning of the threads. its the bolts that hold the pull start to the crankcase cover. do they go all the way in the crankcase?

Sometimes you can get lucky and drill them out by using a small drill bit and going increasingly larger, but not so larger that you start drilling the threads. If you go this route the most important thing is to make sure when you first start to drill it is perfectly centered. You really only get one chance at it.
