Wont idle, have to hold throttle 1/8th of the way open. Changed the plug, cleaned the carb real good (wasnt bad, reset A/F 1.5 turns out), tried running without air filter. . it just doesnt fire up like it used too. It cranks for like 5 seconds, u got to have the throttle open that 1/8th of a way to start it. Then it starts up, you let off that throttle it will kill right away. What gives??

there should be an idle speed knob (plastic knob at the end of a bolt with a spring on it) n the right side of the carb, screw that in (righty tighty) a few turns to adjust the idle speed

Some times that screw will pop off where it belongs and will change the idle .. but if you had the carb off you would have noticed that ...... you took the pilot jet out when you cleaned the carb right?

yes yes, it is screwed in all the way right now (black plastic idle knob) I am kinda of scared, could it be compression issue????

if it is screwed in all the way then that would be equal to holding the throttle open, and when you hit the gas with your thumb it really wouldnt rev at all. im think that that idle screw is either broken of the piece in the carb that it is supposed to push against is broken or they are not lining up, this happened with my buddies 250SX and all it was, was a bent idler screw

just checked it, everything is lining up well. I tried to start it and it wouldnt, pulled the plug, no fuel on plug, bone dry. Cracked the bowl drain on carb, plenty gas coming out. Finally got it to start after a good 8 seconds of cranking with choke on. Like I was saying, if you let off the throttle, its just looking to kill, so its a fuel delivery issue, or compression!!

did you reassemble the carb exactly as you disassembled it?
also...did you buy a carb kit, or simply blow the jets out.

yes, just blew out the jets with carb cleaner and compressed air

Buy a carb kit. Look closer at your idle screw...
