Hi, I'm just wondering what sort of age my 70 frame might be.:wondering
The only giveaway is that there is no s/n on the frame that I can find. There are 2 holes on the neck where I'd expect the number to be, I'm guessing the number was on a plate that was rivited here. Were all 70 s/n's on a plate, or when did they change to stamping direct to the frame? Are there any other tell-tails to look for?:confused:
The engine is from a 1982 C70 moped so that's no help!
Thanks.

Hair Bear,
My 1974 model has numbers stamped on like normal. Are you sure it is not an aftermarket frame? I think they had rivoted plates. Get a picture posted and someone here with ultimate 70 knowledge will know for sure!

Thanks Tim, hadn't thought of that. The critter isn't here at the moment but I'll get some pics when I get a chance.

The later type of atc70 Im pretty sure has riveted on plate, my one does, and that DEFINATELY ISNT an aftermarket frame
1974 frame (http://www.mrcycles.com/fiche_image_popup.asp?fveh=2832§ion=118451&year=1974&make=Honda&category=ATVs&dc=792&name=FRAME+%40+REAR+FENDER++%40+IGNITION+COIL)
1982 frame (http://www.mrcycles.com/fiche_image_popup.asp?fveh=2828§ion=118346&year=1982&make=Honda&category=ATVs&dc=792&name=FRAME+%40+COIL+%40+TOOLS)
Maybe the earlier type frame had it stamped and the later type riveted?
Oh, and will we be seeing you at trikefest Rob?

Hi Ryan, Thanks for the links, that tells me mine is the 82 on version, so it would appear that, by chance, the engine is probably about the right age!
Amazing what you can find out when you ask.
Don't know about TFUK '09 just yet. Apart from a worse than usual distinct lack of cash, I'm currently nursing a damaged wrist and I'll be wanting to make sure all is good before doing anything silly, but thanks for the invite.
There is a q**ds only day comng up at Picadilly woods in may (trikes allowed!), see SATVC for details.
Rob.
