Stupid 3-wheeler wheel question...

Why do all of the stock 3 wheelers have gold wheels? I thought about painting mine, but I guess I need to hang with the cool kids... :crazy:

Hey DC, how did you get those 250r wheels to fit on the SX, i tried it on my '85and it wouldn't fit over the brake drum. Do the stock wheels for an '86 250r have a larger I.D. than '83 250r or did you remove the drum? Or maybe the ones I had were not stock?

My 4 BRs all have grey wheels. So does my 70.

You gotta make sure they are a large bell design to clear the drum cover, early r's probably were not L-B, And I think the later r's are 9" so even more clearance.

I used to have an mid-80's model yamaha 125 dirt bike with gold wheels. So I asked what the gold wheels where for. I was told it was california gold wheels for riding in the sand dunes, some chemical in the gold paint held up better in the dunes.

Who knows.......................... I might have been feed a warm pile but, it sounded good to me.

wrong, 250r had gold wheels the 200x did not. 85-86 350x did not.
