I just picked up a polished clutch cover for my project 350x but when I started looking it over good i noticed that the place where the pin by the kick starter shaft is broken off. Will I be able to use it or is it junk? What is that pin for??

that has to do with the compression release...if your not running one dont worry about it.

I hope your running the decompression cable.... It's a beyatch to kick the 350 without it. I'm sure that broken cam stop (I'm assuming thats what it is...) can be removed but I'd be upset with the guy that sold me the bum clutch cover.........

couldn't the spot be tig welded and then re-drilled for the size of the rod going in it ?

Dont see why not. There might even be enough hole left to hold the pin.

Thanks for the help I thought it was for the decompression. This thing is a beast to kick so I've got to have it working. I emailed the guy who sold it to me, I guess we'll see if he gives me a refund. If not I might see if i can get it welded.
