Noob size question.

I'm a noob, just bought an '85 200s. I've gone riding exactly once...but oh did I love it. Problem is I know how this addicton will go. At 6 foot 206 I probably look a little big on my 200s. I plan on riding this girl around for a while...but those 200x & 250r & 350x sure look nice. I know I'm probably not ready for the last two.

To get to my question, for a guy my size, are the 200x 250r or 350x gonna be cramped for me? Also, can someone make me feel better, and let me know they are as big or bigger than me and riding an ole 200s.

Final question, why the hype for the 200E/250es/200m, but no love for the 200s. The only difference I see in the stats is the tire size, and a bit in wheel base....but they certainly don't seem much bigger otherwise. I mean taking out electric start and all of course. Just curious.

I think all of the old trikes will feel small compared to the big four wheelers. I notice the difference between my 200 and my 185s. But I think its mostly because of the bigger tires. I used to own a 200x but I did not like the way it was geared. It would not hold back going down hills like the ATC200 and the 185s do. I do miss the suspension.

The smallest bike in the ones that you mentioned is the 1st gen 250R. At 5" 10" it doesn't feel that cramped to me, so any of these bikes will feel comfy to you. If your looking to upgrade, (sounds like you are) go with a 200X. I've only ridden my '85, but it is unanimously said that the '86 is the best year, so I'd hold out for one of those.

6ft 206 isn't that big, lighten up on yourselve bro. It sounds like a 350x would be perfect for you, and not because i own one. lol The 350 has good controlable power, alot like the 400ex, if you are familar with those.
The 200s is a tough, good all around machine and should pull you around fine. They are just a bumpy ride

At 6'3" and 250# I love riding the 200S - as a matter of fact a bunch of us went hard tail riding over the weekend - and we are all pretty big guys. No worries mate - the 200S has ample power and you should not feel very cramped on it. BTW - I have MAD LOVE for the 200S!

Thanks for the replies. I know 6 foot 206 isn't huge by any stretch...but as fiehart said I guess we all look big on them compared to people on todays giant 4 wheelers. I don't feel cramped on it, but I guess to some I look like I should be.

My first ride she ran close to perfect...and after I got her home...cleaned her up, and adjusted the carb idle a little she's perfect. Riding again can't come fast enough.

I'd like to upgrade at some point....or I guess..add to the collection..not necessarily upgrade. The 200x, 250R and 350X all seem like prizes to me.

You know the funny thing about just having bought my first 3 wheeler is everyone tells me I'm crazy and oh how dangerous they are. I guess the ban just sits there and rots in peoples brains.

Enough rambling...I'm gonna go search the site for info. ;)

I'm a HONDA guy 100% but many guys have told me that the TRI-Z is one of the most roomy and comfortable trikes out there for a big guy like yourself.....

I would not want the inherent problems of the Z but it seems that a few guys have really gone out of there way to eliminate the weaknesses that they had in stock form.

I am the same size as you to a "T"... Absolutely loved both of my 350X's... Piles of torque and tons of fun... You dont buy them for comfort, you get a goldwing for comfort, but they definately arent uncomfortable for a guy our size... After a 60 mile ride, I could still keep going... Go for a big X

Found a guy locally with a 350x, says he put new rings, seals, gaskets in a month ago and now it's smoking again. Doesn't sound promising, but thought I'd ask on here to see what others though.

He's asking 650. I thought about a Big Red, but would like to get a rear suspension. Most 250es are outta my price range....for now. ;)

I have a 84 Big Red 200, well ok had. I gave it to my brother and I still ride it now and then. I think the Bid Red feels so much more roomy than my 200s. I also have an early 80's 200 with a 185 motor in it and it is wider and more stable than my 200s. I love the power my 200s has but I love the size of the Big Red and my 185. Just my two pennies added to the discussion.

I'm 6'2'', 240pounds and on my big red 200e I use to sit on the rear rack when cruising... Maybe a different set of handlebar would help.
