Does turning the air/fuel mixture screw in make it rich or lean? Thanks

in is lean... opening richens it up, most of the time they are supposed to be set at 1.5 turns out. Its best to try that first if it doesnt work, turn it out until it starts to stall and then turn it back in 1/4 turn should be fine.
