Started to do some maintinance on the 350X. New brake pads, front bearings and seals, bleed the brakes, new front tire, chain and sprockets, new front rotor soon. When I went to remove the chain, I had a half link in there from it stretching a little and noticed that the little cotter key was missing(sheared off). I've been all over BFE(PA.,OH., IN., MI.) and was lucky it didn't part on me. Just thought I'd mention it to others that might have one too. I was 3/8 over service limit and the front sprocket teeth are curled. I was going to spend some dough on harder chain and sprockets($260), then started to think, if the chain and sprocket doesn't wear then what next? Crank or tranny gears will wear more?:wondering I suppose its easier and cheaper to change the chain and sprockets than a crank or tranny. Beets

To me the crank/tranny idea doesnt float. You still get the same wear on them even if you have hard or soft sprockets/chain. IMO, I just see the doing the same work either way
