So Springfield isn't huge...about 100,000 people. I made some calls to a few different powdercoaters and the one I'm scheduled with was kinda interesting. I asked for some estimates and he said, "So what are we doing?" I told him I wanted a ATV frame blasted and coated. There was some silence as I imagine he was referencing some book of prices or something (they usually do sprint car chassis).

Throughout his silence I said, "Well, actually it's a 3 wheeler...so pretty much a dirtbike frame." I didn't want him to think there were a lot of complicated angles like most quad frames have. He said, "We just did a Honda 3 wheeler recently." And I said, "yeah, this is also a honda." He then said, "Yeah, this one was a 250R though." I said, "Yeah, this one is too...it's an 86." He said, "Yeah, this one was an 86."

Now I'm like, Great....WTF, now I'm gonna run into someone in the trails around here rocking the same flippin' restored 1986 ATC 250R that I plan on having. :)

Anyway, the price is $200 out the door so it's going in on Monday. He said they already have a really close shade of red from the other one they just did.

I just had mine done a short time ago and the color that they used was called Astatic Red. Which is very close
