I used to ride in Poughkeepsie and Hyde Park area. I havnt been there in a long time but I could ride the trails to Pleasant Valley and beyond and back. Hit the railroad tracks and ride to Albany almost. Look for all of those dead railroad tracks, they should still be sweet trails.Power lines also. Man I want to ride those trails again.

do you live near 5 corners? What about the old railroad tracks? We used to ride there.

I'm a few miles from the Woodbury Commons shopping center near Harriman and Monroe. Where is 5 corners?

5 corners is in Vails Gate where 32, 94, and 300 meet. I'm about 20 minutes from you, there's not a whole lot of riding left around here. If you know someone who's property backs up to some land that will get you onto the power lines you can do some riding. We used to ride Sterling Forest back in the 80's and 90's but since its a state park now it is patrolled. If you've got a quiet machine you can do some riding up there still, especially in the NJ end of it but again, you need to have a house to park your truck at so you can ride in. Even then, you're limited to such a small part of the park its not all that great. Once in a while we go riding over in West Milford, NJ in the Newark Watershed but again, you're best bet is parking at someone's house so that you don't get hassled. Truthfully, get your stuff reg'd and insured and ride in PA. There are two or three legal areas within 2 hours of us.

Thanks for the response. I kinda had a feeling that was where he was talking about, 5 corners is about 15 minutes from me. I'm not aware of any place to ride in that area. I only moved up here from Bergen County about 8 years ago, so I'm still not that familiar with the area. What town are you in? Do you ride at any of those places in PA? I was told that you can't register a trike. A guy I work with lives in Goshen and said that there's a place that's supposedly legal in Middletown by The Galleria Mall, by Rt.84 and the Wallkill River. I haven't had a chance to go check it out yet. How much are you asking for the 350X?

You can register a trike just like any other ATV. I've got a plate on my 350X. I haven't been to the state parks in PA but I have been riding in other places in PA. There's a ride in a few weeks on May 9th. I used to ride the place you're talking about near the mall back in the 90's. I haven't been there in 10 years though. I happened to go past there the other day and saw a gate across the road that we used to take into there. From what I understand, that place can be hit or miss. You can get away with riding there 50 times and then on the 51st the cops will be waiting for you on the way out. Its private property and certainly not a legal place to go. The place in Maybrook behind Yellow Freight was kind of the same way. I got tired of wondering if the cops were going to be waiting for me on the way out so I don't go to either of them anymore. I'll send you a PM about the X.

I've rode for 25 years in Pa without any permit problems. Even on state land. The cops around here even wave to ya as you pass by. LMAO!!!

Tetz is the place in Middletown that pistonhead was referring to in post #7 and the one I was talking about in #8. Its not worth the potential hassle to me. I'll drive another 45 minutes out 84 to the state park in PA and not have to worry about any fines. Do many people still ride at Tetz? How do you get in now that the old entrance is gated off?

I wanna rideee, i have a place in Middletown/ Town of Wallkill nice little track in the back woods (could use some jumps  ) and i have some trails that go right off the track, i haven't even explored them fully, they do go near/into a wildlife area though, so I am iffy about that, there are also some excellent trails under powerlines down the street, but there is construction down there and i think they fenced it off, and after my tickets i haven't chanced that. If anyone wouldnt mind havin me along i'd love to do some riding sometime soon somewhere legalish

134 high barney rd, middletown, ny

the power lines are at the end of the road at the bottom left of the map, the brown area towards the top of the map along side karen drive is where the track and trails are that i know about, the rest is open for trail blazing, it is easy to get stuck though so a tow rope/ winch is a must because of all the rocks and downed trees. there are some straight flats for speed, but there is alot of rough trails too, i would imagine they were more open years ago
