howdy all,
I just bought a 1978 atc 90 and it is beautiful except for a rusty gas tank on the inside. What can I do to repair this? Is there some kind of coating stuff you can use, or what? Any help would be great! thanks, guys!

Use a product called kreem. follow the directions and take your time, it works great! Its a three step operation, forst you etch the inside of the tank, then nutralize, then you line the inside with the kreem stuff. hope this helps and Welcome to the board!

Im using the Kreem kit on my 90's gas tank right now. To speed the process up I bough 2 gallons of Muratic Acid at Home depot. I put a gallon of water in the tank then half a gallon of acid and mixed it all around and repeated this twice. That loosened up alot of rust real fast. Dont get the acid on your hands or in your eyes. Then i started to follow the kreem instructions with the soap and water. Now im on the Tank prep A step, im lettin her sit overnite.

Since your only doing the 90 tank, Do not poor the whole bottle of kreeme coating in there, You only need about 1/4 of it if that....Save the other stuff its still useable, even after several weeks.....I reused my stuff until the coating was all gone...then I got rid of it. I was able to kreeme a 110 tank, 185 tank, a little concrete mixer tank, and a 70 tank with one kit.

the muratic acid will take most the rust out by it self but it will eventualy come back

The muriatic acid worked real good. I let it sit over nite with tank prep A in it and drained it this morning. Then on to tank prep B. That did a nice job and then i began the with the sealer. I followed the directions and now its sitting in the garage, i had it up right originally and then i turned it upside down before cause there was a little in the bottom, that stuff is like molasses. so i hope that excess cures. I only used a half a pint on it. I hope it comes out well.
Here is a KREEM kit on ebay.
