Sorry, I meant transmission.... I couldn't edit my heading...
Guys....I need your help. This 125M runs excellent and is in greeat shape. My problem is that it will oly shift into 1 and 2nd. High and Low work as they should. The nothing is bent and and the springs are tight. There is no visible wear on the shifting arm. All the pins are in the shift drum. Can you guys see somoethinf that I am missing? Please if you can, respond tonight as I am trying to fix this damn thing:D

Looks a lot like there a pin missing behind that plate that rachets.

All four pins are in. I tried to turn the shift drum without the shifting mechanism on it it will not turn past this point. Does this mean it is a inside problem?

First of all, trannies rarely shift threw all the gears without being spun while your shifting it. I like to lift the arse end and have someone spin (EDIT) THE TIRES, while I shift and watch!! Most trannies will do a fvew gears standing still but not all of them. Just like when we rock the bike back and forth to find neutral....
The other thing to do is get the star wheel off, clean the drum, put magic marker at every 60 degrees and shift away while spinning the tire. Or another thing I've doe is I remove the spring that keeps the roller meshed into the star wheel so I can mess with it a little bit, yet still hold it while I'm testing things.....

Good advice Dirtchaser! By getting the wheels off the ground, I was able to see that it would shift through the gears. It must be the shifting arm. It doesn't look worn, but that is the only thing I can come up with. It just will not grab the pins an the shifting drum! Thanks for saving me from needlessly cracking this case!

Sometimes the smallest rounded corner or burr is all it takes. It may not look like much, but just keep staring at it and you'll eventually think "hmmmm, that looks worn...., or that doesn't look right" and thats probably the issue.
I've bought numerous "It won't shift, pops out of gear" machines only to find simple little problems. Hopefully you have the same issue!!
Especially with the semi auto trannies, guys rev them up and jam it into gear to "wheelie" and thats when the wear begins.....

I think you have the shift arm not in place correctly. The end of the arm does not contact the pins on the shift drum itself, the end of it should go under the shift drum. There is a cut out that the end of the arm contacts. You cant see it from looking at it directly on, you have to look below and in (more towards the inner case) and you will see what I am talking about. I had the same problem on a 110 engine, and that was the problem I encountered too. GOOD LUCK.

I DID IT!!!! It was just like Dirtcrasher said. I wished I would have listened. I split the case and there was nothing wrong with the transmission. Shifting mechanism worked perfect. Only $44 later, its fixed! According to my micrometer the gear shifting fork was only off .5mm from the new one. May as well been an inch! Got it together and just took it for a ride!
