Do a search, some on here have done it. My .02 is that you could buy a suspended trike if you count all your time and effort and parts you spend to make it rear suspended.

I have a weld on and a bolt on suspension 185s. Do a "search" and you will find more info. You can either find a converted 185s or you can use a 200x frame and build what they call an auto-x. There are good threads on here about both machines. The suspension 185s doesn't compare to a 200x, but they beat a hardtail any day and they are pretty cool. There are maybe 5 here on the website.

ok, so could I actually just buy a 200x shock and swingarm and mount them on my 185s frame, after modifying the frame first?

I don't think anyone said that. It would take a lot of work to use the 200x swinger and you would have to use all the X rear end parts if you were able to wedge the swinger in there.

after contemplating this swap myself for quite awhile the easier route to take would be finding a 200x roller and bolting the 185 into the x chassis, unless of course your good with a welder, the x forks dont fit the s chassis the stems are different. Auto x's are a blast though :D
