Need some help - 84 200es

Hope one of you knowledgable types can help me out. Tried to adjust the cam chain tension on my 1984 200es. I followed the instructions in the manual and loosened the 14mm nut as per intructions while the trike was idleing and then retightened the same nut. However now it is making noise when it is just coming off of idle with increasing rpm. How much do you loosen that nut? Also the instructions say to make sure you don't loosen the 6mm bolt while doing the adjustment. But when you are loosening the 14mm nut the 6mm bolt is moving as well, is this normal? What did I do incorrectly or what do I do to get rid of the noise now?

sounds like you need a new camchain. it's probably stretched. keeping an old one in it can cause it to jump time and possibly bend a valve.

I should add that the noise is for only a short period when the rpm is rising and then it disappears. It doesn't make the noise constantly.
