200x burning oil?

my 200x goes through oil fast...ill change the oil and the next week after a ride or two the oil is already black. what would cause this? im pulling apart the motor to replace the rocker arms anyways...figured i might as well try to fix this problem to:confused:

The oil normally goes black after a while in a 4 stroke anyway, unless its actually useing the oil, i wouldn't really worry

all oil goes black after a while...but a week? with maybe 2 rides?

How long are your rides? It might be too much, but I change my oil about every 20hrs. I'm riding hard 3-4 of those 20hrs. My oil is black when I change it. I change the oil twice a year. Like Ryno said unless it's using it..... Beets

try using valvoline vr-1 racing oil.

if this is a bike you just got the motor night just be full of sluge and it will take a wile for it to wash out.

If its still full when you check it and its running good i wouldn't worry

My oil doesn't go black and thats with quite a few weekends of beating on it.

I find oil goes black in tired engines. But, like said above, just keep it full and run it unles you want to freshen it up for a good cost....
