Sadly, I've been that lucky in the past, but wasn't smart enough to snatch up what I found

Who would have thought in the pre-internet days that a shop full of Tecate OEM plastics in the wrapper, extended axles, pipes, Cal-Fab and WestCoast swingarms, carbs, etc....would be in demand in a few years.....(hanging head in shame:) The whole pile went for $1200....

..great score freaksfix

I did for a while before also, but that met a bad end. I did do some sets of 200x shrouds and one set of ST shrouds for a member that requested them.

Only bad thing is that the pieces arent that tough.

You should try to get the numberplate duplicated and sell copies for profit.

So your not into it anymore?

Twilight
03-14-2009, 05:31 PM
that depends, have any close ups? if its a real just simple design it is easy, like the 200x shroud was easy.

before when I did some pieces people complained about how "weak" they were. thats why i stopped.

LOL... Dude, im just worried about breaken evn right now.. Although I am checking into having then remade..

freaksfix
03-14-2009, 05:34 PM
What makes it weak, deeper bends pulling the plastic and thinning it out?

Twilight
03-14-2009, 05:39 PM
You nailed it, haha... Around the edges the plastic is thinner and breaks easier. I was looking into thicker plastic but the guy never sent me samples.

In truth, vacu-formed plastic is easy to do. I am surprised nobody here tries/does it.

Twilight

If you want a good one without having risk to that, just send a mold.

Don't mean to hijack, or get off topic here. Another member and I, have recently purchased repro plastic items from aussiedunner, from over the pond. His stuff is very nice. Like others is slightly more brittle than OEM, but still top notch for the price. He is easily found over at org. I've bought Honda short track shrouds and front number plates. The more people trying to re-make, build, or fab parts for our old trikes the better! :beer

Us australians seem to be pretty crafty.

Weird...

Both named Tony
Both from Australia
Both re-make plastics
Both have Honda Pilot's
hmm... coincidence, lol j/k
