Hey all, it's my first post!!

I had a bigred when I was a kid, very very VERY fond memories with that machine. I've since had perhaps a dozen 2 wheeled bikes, everything from a yz80 to a cr500, also a few 4 wheeled machines in the mix, right now I've got a highly modified banshee. ANYWAY, these have been no fun compared to my bigred LOL.

Me and my friends all had 3 wheels when we were kids, all hondas. I'm unsure of the exact model names or whathaveyou.

My one friend Greg had a 250cc 2 stroke which was a blast to ride, another friend, chris, had some small one with biga$$ wheels and no suspension, and my cuz had a 200cc which was faster than my bigred. SOOO I'm wondering if there's a breakdown of the models and years somewhere, can someone point me in the right direction?

Also I would like to for a project take one of those old 250cc two strokes and do a cr500 conversion. Has anyone done this? Are you using an aircooled 500 or a liquid cooled 500??

Are any year 250cc two strokes better than others? What should I be looking for when I start looking for one?

Thanks guys (and gals?) seeya around

Matt

Oh, btw, I'm not totally set on a honda. If a tecate-3 is better suited for a 500cc+ conversion I'd be all over that

500cc is not a rookie bike, just a warning. do some searching and you will see seveal builds.

search my name and you will see a kxt500 that i totalled a couple weeks back.

Welcome to the site. There have been many 500cc conversions done. Take some time to play with the search button and you'll find more info than you could ever think to ask for.

Not to be self promoting or on a high horse - but all Honda models can be seen on my website:

Here is a link to all the different models Honda has offered:

Welcome to the Site also - and how is Kitchener's Hockey team?

Hey atctim your site is exactly what I was looking for! There are sooo many different models out there it's hard to keep them straight. As for hockey...I don't follow it. I enjoy going to games, but other then that I'm not knowledgeable about it.

Has anyone ever heard of someone putting a banshee engine into a trike? I'm sure it's been done, but I figure I have this race motor here in my 'shee, right.

I'll use the search tool a bit, thanks guys

Just saw a banshee with a 350X front end on here. I think it belonged to one of our members? As for any 250R being better than others, for performance, the newer the better, but they're all bulletproof.
