if it runs, but only needs a top end rebiuld, i'd give 400-500, depending on the total shape of the thing.

well i ended up payin 150 bucks for it. its not in as good of shape cosmetically as i thought but not to horible bad. i guess it just needs a base gasket and a head gasket, he tore it apart but never fixed it and he needed some money so he took my 150. i'll get some pics up tomorrow and see if you guys think it was worth it

I KNOW you did pretty good. I would have picked it up. It's an 1985. The rear shock isn't stock, the reservoir is in the wrong place. Probably due to the hose being too short. It should be on the rear spar upright on the right side where that mount is. The rear suspension strut has been cut and extended. The shock's reservoir looks like an old Works shock. The frame has been painted.

The chain rubber on the front of the swingarm is missing. The kickstarter looks to be welded in the out position. I can see what looks like black silicone sealant on the rear side of where the clutch housing is. Possibly a crack or a hole? Stock Mikuni carb.

I'm suprised the rear brakes are working without the reservoir. As you are sucking air into the master cylinder every time you use it. What does the cylinder and head look like?

Where in Oklahoma are you? I live in Coffeyville, KS. I have 2 Tecate's an 84 and an 85.

Congrats

Looks like an 81-82 250r shock. They are short, so that would explain the strut extension. Nice score

i live in blackwell, its a couple miles north of ponca city close to the state line. ya i need a new rear shock because it bounces and feels unstable, and i cant stand that. the head doesnt look that bad, but of course i've never torn down a little motor. now you bring me a type 1 vw and i'll set you up lol. i plan on replacing the kick starter, prolly both side covers and some other stuff. and i dont see an airbox where does it go on a kawasaki.

It goes right behind the carburetor. I have one if you need it. It's about 1 foot x 1 foot by 1 foot, black plastic with a round opening on the passenger side with a cover.

I've never used it before, got it along with some parts. It seems to be all there. In fact I have 2 lids, 1 stock and 1 with 2 vents installed in the lid. Looks dirty but it is all there.

Yep, that is exactly where it goes, if you need any exact pictures holler at me and I will take them for you on mine. As far as the airbox goes I don't know. I do however also have a brand new UNI filter for it. How about $35 shipped for the box covers and the new filter. :-)
