My new 86 build.....

Well, here is an update on my tinkering.....I have been collecting a few parts here and there. Going to take a modern approach with the 86 build. I think I am going back to a stock look for the 85, but here is some tinkering that I did with the 86 today. Got a new blasted frame(thanks MyMistress 86R), new bars, ASV levers, and the new silver plastics so it's gonna be a real sweet looker.....enjoy.

Think I'll break down and buy an OEM shell for the headlight and stick with red shrouds and tank. Any input on finishing touches? I am going to do the tripple trees in Black and up in the air about sticking with stock blue seat or go to a black seat with stock stencils. Going to do the swinger in black also, should be using the whole 450R setup from the swinger bolt back.... Going to use a 450R tail light, and kill switch to update the looks and either use a 350X headlight or the new 86 250R shell if I can find one for under $100.....

Dude, seriously, where have all these silver plastics been coming from? I wanted a set a long time ago and now all of a sudden they seem to be showing up everywhere.

Yeah, it's a shell I had kicking around. I bought the plastics from BDawgs thru ebay. They are blems, but I paid $150 for them, plus ship.....

Here is what will be getting transplanted from....

Bought the ASV levers on ebay. Had to blanket bid a couple and wound up with a blue and black one. The master is an 05 Raptor with brake switch.....

I would like to pick p a set of foot pegs that I could play with and weld on some 450R pegs on them. Anyone have any bent pegs for cheap?

Looking good! It reminds me of when I first did my frame over. I did it in the same silver but its all dirty now. Believe it or not, even only riding the ice and the dunes will get them dirty eventually. I need to tear the motor out and give it a proper cleaning this spring.

Looks good so far! Personally I wouldn't go with too many diffrent colors on the same bike. I'd lose the blue and just go silver and red. Are the shrouds available in silver?

Maybe have tammy from cosmic quads come up with something for the seat. She does her best work when you just let her loose to do her own thing. I would think someting in red tho. I'd save that seat, looks to still be in fine shape. maybe pick up a beater off ebay cheap to have recovered.

I'd also just strip off the anodizing on the levers and just run the polished look. keep up the good work!
