what year is my tecate? I just got it and it needs a few parts and i was wondering what year it is so i can get the right parts.

Your frame VIN should have more numbers then that. You need to give us a lot more details if you want to get an accurate answer. Where is the radiator located? Does the engine say KIPS on it? Stuff like that. We can't read your mind. :D haha Welcome.

does it have front disk brakes? is so its atleast a 85 if not its a 84 , if it has radiator scoops on the side of the gas tank its a 86 or 87

radiator is in front of the handle bars and there is no headlight. where would the KIPS be located?

there arent any air scoops on the gas tank and it has drum brakes on the front

It's cool. You learn as you go. You should be able to find a good deal on an engine. An 84 or 85 Tecate engine will work for you or you could even use an 83 or 84 KX 250 engine and drop them all right in. Good luck. Enjoy your build. Kawie's rule.:naughty:
