Noticed this today as I was tearing my 70 apart. It, (Hole), doesn't look like it's something that is good. Is there a fix or am I screwed? Is it trashed or what? Or, is it nothing at all to worry about? Any suggestions... Thanks.

I would not tig it - I am guessing there are cooling properties involved with that hole!

If it was there or should be there, I'll leave it be. I've learned not to mess with things, I've been that route before and it's too costly and time consuming. Again, I appreciate all of your help with this. Thank you!!!

Yes, a hole like that. It is normal, made that way and won't hurt a thing. Kasey is 100% correct and knows darn well what he is talking about. IMO, he has probably forgotten more than some of the users here actually know.

WELL LETS SEE ,,, if i can answer this so you all will understand,,, when you cast parts you need exit ports to relieve the casting mold material,, more than likely its sand,,, so that would be a sand exit port that is also used as a bridge with a few short cooling fins to help dissapate heat buildup in the head from the internal combustion going on inside the cylinder when its running,,, OK

I'm not knocking anyone. Just looked like a chip hole. Like something might have hit it. I can see where it didn't finish casting. Sorry if I offended you. Just curious.
