I've been reading old posts about my problem and I still can't determine which clutch is not working right. I just got this big red, it doesn't look like it was beaten but it might have done some work. The kick start seems to work fine (no slip) thats how I've been starting it because it doesn't have a battery yet. When I kick it though there is a noise at the starter reduction gears, sometimes bad sometimes not so bad. Also crunch noise at shutdown. From what I've read here, I'm thinking starter clutch but I've also read about "one way clutch" If anybody knows how to figure out which one I'd appreciate it. I haven't tried the starter yet because there is no battery, but I could hook something up if I have to. The guy I bought it from told me about the problem, and he said the starter did work. He had the reduction gear out of the machine so it would break anything. Thanks

Based on my experiences it sounds like the one way clutch. There was a post a couple weeks back about the same thing...listed part number from bikebandit.com
Honda parts direct is the cheapest I've seen em like $80.
