200x kick start gear

I have an 1985 200x and it does kick start, but i can feel some of the teeth are stripped out on the kick start gear, how are these replaced, do the cases need to be split. anything to look out for

Case has to be split.....

Someone on .org was refurbishing them (or adding a washer and calling it upgraded :))
