I might have an opportunity to get an 83-84 KX 250 cylinder for my T3 but it needs to be re-plated. With that in mind, how much is a faie offer so I can make an offer on it? Thanks in advance.

It's important to remember the price of piston kit too.. Most places will include this if you like. And most often is more economical to get it included in job. Seems piston kits have really gone up lately!

I just had my Kx jug re-plated at U.S. Chrome. I think I paid 360.00 and that included a wiseco piston kit. I paid 75.00 for the jug itself! Well worth doing....it looks perfect! Doom is coming Trikefest 09'.

but both my T-3 jugs (84 kxt + 84 kx) cost about 325-350 each to re-nickesell (sp.?) back to original.
And I am certain i got a very good deal (and top notch work too).

Can you elaborate on what exactly this means? I am not sure i follow you here and i am very curious about it:)

My uncle just toasted his F-5 about 8 miles from home. He was looking into getting his motor redone and it was just over 200.00 for each jug exchanged, so i wouldn't spend a ton of money of something that needs redone...

I wouldnt pay much.. $40-$75 maybe.. there is still alot of them out there so keep that in mind.. There is only a couple places in the country that plate cylinders, so you will save money by cutting out the middle man... It should cost around $200 if you supply your own piston..

Appreciate all the advice.

I found a place on the web that says they'll strip, plate and diamond hone it for $180. Anybody know if they are reputable? link below

it appears that they send there parts to Millenium Technologies for plating... I would send it send it straight to them and cut out the middle man... That way if you have any problems there isnt a 3rd party involved...

this would be my choice:

There's another one if anybody is interested. I wondered how much they were worth.

I thought they were getting rare but after seeing the people in this thread talk about it and searching the net, they are still fairly common. BTW, that listing you posted is the guy I was talking to. Seems like a nice guy but we was wanting a bit much for it.

He did not answer all the questions I asked about. And what little answers he gave seemed unreliable. Might be worth $40 but that's about it I guess.

Does that cylinder look sleeved or is it just a mark from the head gasket in the last picture
