I rescued this one from a guy who didn't know the 1st thing and shouldn't own anything mechanical..

Air box was all melted from the idiot spraying quickstart in it then pulling it over..backfire in the carb from too much starter fluid led to fire in the air box.

I cleaned up the machine and replaced the foul gas in the tank and carb, which is what it really needed and it runs like a beauty..looks like one too I think.

I own a 1984 Ytm 200k, I'm thinking of trying out a 2 stroke, Anyone know what the 175's are like? Compare to the 200.

The 175's are kind of a rough ride with the solid rear end but are FAAST. I had one SMOKE and I mean S M O K E my 225dx which has been clocked at 59 on dry pavement. He had me from the start and had a good bit more top end than I did. He actually gave a yamaha blaster a real good run for his money. Got any pics?

After all the years ive been on 3WW I dont know if ive ever posted in this thread.. I use to have a yami 200e, and a 225DRS, both gone a few years now.. but now i have a trizinger.. the superzinger, which is aa 125 chassis+ zinger chassis + a 175 motor, throw in a welder and a few beers and you get the idea.. and a 85 1/2 black and red triZ..
Im still a KAWI guy but yamis are finding their way into my shop.. lmao

Hello all,

I'm new to this thread, but not to 3 wheeler world. Anyway, I just picked up an original 1986 Yamaha 225DX. The machine was sitting for 24 years so I changed all the fluids (engine & differential), air filter, spark plug and battery. The carburetor was badly corroded inside so I need to replace that. I was able to get the machine running briefly to see if it will shift through all the gears, and it did :)

ill play along. i have a 85 ( i think) 200e i fixed up and a 86 225dr but it has a 200er engine....on a brighter note i just made a deal for a timberwolf motor :)

I have a few Yamaha's a 125,ytm200 a Yamahauler 200 and a 225. I like my Honda's but when I come across a Yammie I buy it. The hauler came with a title and the owners manual so I had to buy it. Even with the real bad camo paint job.

I un-como'ed it some I think it looks better Yammie yellow. The plastics are not perfect a bit faded and scratched but no cracks at all. I was kinda happy bout that. Enjoy yammie lovers, Enjoy..... I am.
