86-87 Tecate wiring questions

Well I am currently trying to build an 86-87 tecate and it has no wiring. My main question, is can I use a wiring harness from another bike or trike? I found a complete harness from a 90's KDX bike with coil, cdi and all.....would this work for the tecate? Or should I find period and bike correct coil, cdi and so on??
I have the on/off switch, light switch and key switch. I have an acerbis headlight and tail light I would like to use on it. I just need the rest of the wiring. Thanks for any help you can provide.

You can use KX ignitions on tecates and this requires stator, flywheel, cdi, wiring harness, and some type of kill switch.

Maybe someone else has done KDX swap?

Since you want lights maybe you'll have to be the first to try.
