I have been in talks with a few 250r owners. One of the racers in WA was going to sell me his with load of parts for a killer price, but decided to keep it after the ride on it today, 64yrs old and he said it may take another 10 years to let his "childhood" go. But to help me on the path, he gave me contacts with racers he knew back in the day.

Honda 86 250r- Canadian trike, all original except for pipe, grab bar and wheels. Factory plastic and other parts. Original owner. Want's 1300 CDN.

Honda 85 250r- US Trike, all together, engine blew top end 3 years ago and has been sitting since. Wants 600.00 USD, has title

Honda 85 250r- US Trike, extended swingarm, non original plastic, bored engine, threw a chain this month and broke the cases, wants 900 USD

And finally the rumor bike, the owner has made only one try to contact me, and was very uptight about it all; 86 250r, flat track setup, steering stabilizer, nerf bars, Pep suspension. Wants 1300 CDN, but this guy hasnt answered since a few days ago.

The only one who has sent me pics, is the owner of the first candian trike:

I like the Honda 250R, lots of parts available. Hard to say if it's a deal or not without you seeing everything. Plus the difference in Canadian mula. I don't regret buying mine......yet.

Im not as L33T as some others here but to me it looks like an 85, not 86. Anyways me personally for my first R I would want a runner, and thats what I did. Bought a runner. Id proabbly have to pick up the one for 600 too just for sh*ts and giggles.

Honestly? It looks like they are all about average deals. Nothing to run to the bank for, but not overpriced either.

Wish I could get a pipe like that one for my 84... parts for the air cooled are so damn elusive lol

personally i'd get the Honda 85 250r- US Trike, all together, engine blew top end 3 years ago and has been sitting since. Wants 600.00 USD, has title" and redo the top end. it'll cost you about $350-$450 to do it the top end with a new weisco piston and performance parts.

I would follow up with the uptight guy with the short track stuff. If not i would get the trike for 600 bones. Not a bad deal at all. This way you can build the motor yourself for your own needs and you also know then its fresh.

The uptight guy called, he wants 2k now, nothing lower. The one that supposedly needs a top end, runs but he says it sluggish and was told it needed a top end.

Depending on the condition I will probably go with the canadian trike, seems like the better deal.

Im no fool on 2 strokes, so if I can get a cheap one that needs a motor rebuild, im all over it.

Many users here in WA and OR know how much a decent 250r goes for... crazy prices
