i found a small spring inside my engine cases on the very bottom when dissasembling , every diagram in my shop manual , for every part , there is no spring that fits this description. so i mean i don't know where it came from , because seriously i have looked this whole 211 pages of my shop manual over and no luck finding out where it goes. i found it under the oil pump when i took that off , but i checked the exploded view of the oil pump on my manual and there isn't a spring that goes to that ......anyone have any idea ? i am just afraid it belongs somewhere , and i won't know where it goes.

Got a picture of the spring? That might / should help tell where it goes.

Could it be a spring from a seal?

Maybe from the clutch?

no i am 100% sure it does't go to the clutch , honestly , it is half the size of one of the dowel pins that holds the camshaft bearing in place.

here is a pic

sorry for the shitty picture , but yes it's a spring , and that is the size it is in comparison to a penny

I've torn apart several 200 engines and I've never seen any springs in here that small. I don't think it belongs on your motor. Might have got in there by accident. Ya never know what's in a bottle of oil nowadays.

that looks like a spring off a difgferent part. i bet it accidently feel down the cam opeening when it was being built up or the oil stick hole be accident. no internal parts use a spring that small. the carb has a small spring on some of the models that us sued to put pressure onthe choke switch, and the on/off and key switches have springs in them for pusing on the contacts. i think it was form something that got in there by accident.

alright thanks guys , i feel alot better now . Trust me when i first saw it i was like "what the hell can this go to that is this small" i looked everywhere so i am confident it doens't belong in here .

and i hope there isn't a bunch of unkown springs in my new oil i am buying lol

that looks to be 1 of the 2 springs from the pulse rotor. at the top of the engine behind the shiny cover that says cdi. its hard to say how it got down there. that would be hard for it to happen , it is basically shielde from falling in.

no that isn't one of those springs , i know that because my buddy has the same machine as me and he had to replace his / rebuild his cdi internals , this spring in the picture is much much smaller than those springs
