it is a voltage regulator

I think it is a double platnoid idler arm bushing.

Or maybe it is a wieght box.

it was dangling up by the headtube of the frame, and it came off a 85 200x, not too sure if it belongs on there

dangling from what? that doesn't go to anything.

btw~i just finished splitting the cases on my old motor for shitz and giggles, tomorrow i'll be putting the motor u sold me together....all the gears better be good! :twisted:

Looks like a voltage regulator to me. Make sure its hooked up before you go riding at night, or you will blow your headlight within about a minute.
