I do this to my big bore stroker 90s. It does help with the build up of pressure in the top end. Also make sure your crank case is vented.

i dont see a need for it on what looks like a 200x...it has a big crankcase breather already.
but my old 90 used to build crazy presure, the dip stick would fly out and nail you in the head...lol

thats a lowering strut and it looks to be for a 200x.
i just found out that the old missle lowering kits came with a strut like that to replace the shock....i would rather have a shock...lol

Your chiropractor makes more money. Although it would take away the 'roll' associated with a launch and would make a quicker start out of the hole. Basically think of a drag car with stiff suspension in the rear vs. a pickup on a hard start. It will just hook up better when you're not worried about ride quality.
So on an atv i'd say there is no advantage to swapping out the shock for something that looks like an adjustable solid chunk of steel which may or may not absorb anything...

Strust are better for straight up drag racing. they put more power to the ground on launch. Other than that I wouldn't run one.

im not going to use a strut, just seen some guy selling one on ebay and just got a little curious.another question:i can see where a strut would be better in a drag race but how well would they perform in the sand.since sand isn't hard, would the ride Still be really rough.

Lowering struts are used on flat track racers for the lowered center of gravity. There is no reason to use a strut in the sand, other than if you are a masochist.
