atc 70 vin number

i have searched every where trying to find a web site to tell me what year my vin number is. The number is 1006269. I know it is a atc 70, and it uses the 2 piece rear fenders so i think that it is older then 1978. The person i got it from says that it is a 1976 but i cant find a 1976 atc 70 anywhere. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks and i know the answer is probably already on the forum but i couldnt find it any where. thanks again

A VIN starting in 100xxxx should be a 73 atc70. The 74 VIN number would start 110xxxx. The original color should be daytona orange and the tank should have the flame decals on it. Hope this helps.

I believe it is a 73, their VIN #'s were 10000001 and up and I think the 74's were 11000001 and up. If it has the two piece then it is definitely a 73-74 and going from the VIN I am sure it's a '73

Im picking up my 73 pretty soon and it has a 100000 # too.
