Had the Big Red in the garage to do some work, and decided to do a little extra since the torn seat cover and rusted headlight guard bugged me. I dont know why but I always see the headlight guards without paint. The rest of the machine can look brand new but the headlight guards never have paint!! I had to sand down the whole thing by hand, because we had no sand left in the sandblaster and the wire wheel was well past its use. I did use the wheel on the welds and places I couldnt get by hand.

First coat of paint, still drying (havent done the bottom yet)
And the torn seat cover was getting to me. This isnt the first seat cover Ive done, this is probably the worst one so far. It has that wrinkle in the top because the stock foam was rotted about 2" back, and the foam I used to build it back up wasnt as dense as the stock stuff, so it compressed with the vinyl easier, creating a wrinkle. That, and I had JUST enough material to do this seat (and I was cutting it pretty close too!). Not bad considering what I had but it couldve been better.

Tomorrow I will be replacing the blown headlight bulb on this and my 86 200x with 100w Xenons!! I have been using this same bulb for over a year now in both my snowmachine and 86 250r, and just found out last night looking thru the Honda Service Manuals that both the 250es and 200x have big enough stators to support the 100w bulbs!! These are wayyyy brighter then the stock bulbs and a drop in replacement also!!
