why wont my 250r run?

I have a 81 250r. i bought a new flywheel for it. I saw that the timing index mark was off so i moved it so it was lined up. I put it back together and it wouldnt fire. So i moved the timing index marks back to about where it was. I got it to fire but it died right away so i moved it around a little more and now it wont fire at all. Ive looked in the book and that is the only place where the timing can be adjusted. Why wont it run when the index marks are lined up? im so :confused: could it be the pulse generator bad or the stator bad?

are you sure it is getting fuel? have to tried putting some gas in the cylinder?

ya ive tried that. and nothing after doing that. It is like somthing else is timed wrong or somthing because it will fire when the index mark isnt lined up.
