for this years Ice races? I'd love to see how you positioned the studs and approximatly how many studs were used. Xowner :pics:
I couldn't pass up the $15/peice for a brand new tire... somethin I'll just be puting holes in anyway...
No experience with these here tires. I figure the low profile will allow less sidewall flex.. oh and these are on 10 inch rims if that matters? so these should hold to the ice pretty well I rekon.
comments, ideas, or pics!!!!

I got a set from Nebraska Tire for dirt cheap last winter and ran those. They work real good on the ice. I studded the solid parts of the nobbies as putting a stud in between only makes it flush with the top of the nobbie. Pretty much 4 studs per nobbie. I dont know of any pattern I just studed the corners of each one where there was the most rubber. Enough to be fun and have good handling. May add more if I can find a sprocket combo right now im 5th gear wide open ready to blow up at 30 mph:cry:. But as of now I grip pretty good. The tires havnt even gotten soft and its been a year. Dedicated ice tires and rims are the way to go. No good up close pics as of now only this one. Maybe you can see. Sorry

The front has two different types of stud. You can see the difference. The Kold Kutters have a smaller head and are much sharper.

quick question,, what size are your screws. I got 1250 3/4" ice screws... hope that's enough! :D
Oh,, The guy at the shop was tearin his hair out trying to mount these tires. he was at it a good hour and a half! (better him than me!)
I'll post a few pics as soon as I locate my camera. they look sick on those black ITP's.
You guys running about 20 lbs of air???

That was me, i bought new ones for Raffa's last year.. I cant find the pics tho.. I got mine from the same guy.. I went with 18 9.5 8.. I used 350 in each rear and like 250 in the front I think.. I put 6 in the center then 4 then 3 I think, and skiped every other outside nobbie.. I'll get some pics for ya soon gotta dig them out of the shed to bring to brapps anyways.. Its freakin 4 below right now so it gonna have to wait.. They hook freakin good, almost to good, it was kinda scetchy getting the rear to break free and slide the corners felt like it wanted to just grab and roll over.. I was able to dump the clutch rolling in 3-4th gear and ride a wheely for as long as I had a plowed path, they grabed the ice good...

Mine are 1/2 inch.
I had a biatch of a time the first time I tried to mount 18's. I actually bent my rim trying to pry it on. Once I figured out the trick there's nothing to it. I'd let the tire heat up in front of the wood stove for like 1/2 hour. Then I'd get the first bead over (easy part). To get the second bead over you have to make sure the bead is in the middle of the rim where the diameter is smaller, otherwise you CANNOT get the bead over the other side of the rim! Once I figured out how to do it I could do it with my eyes closed...

Thanks for the tip. but I gave up on trying to save myself a few bucks years ago... LOL!!! Apperently one of these "blem" tires I bought was strapped across the bead with some sort of band. So the metal bead wires were a bit outta shape. at least thats what the shop guy told me.
they're still holding air so I guess All is good.
darn kid has my camrea somewhere...... :wondering
yeah Josh, I'm gonna hold off on studding these until I'm ready for ice laps...

and some other goodies I walked out of the shop with today. These are gonna look badass for sure. Although I only have about 2 inches ground clearance running the 20's on it now... these should take it down near zero! lol!!!
dont matter much tho... these will be my track only tires from now on. :naughty:

Just tried out my tires on a local pond today, Chris. Better do less studs than I dod because they've got too much bite. I'monna be pulling some of mine out.
