still needs a lil fine tuning, i'm running a kx jug w/ mild port work, used wiseco, cut head, tecate bottem end, dg pipe (soon to be bassani), some kind of 2 stage reeds, ported stock mikuni with 260 main and 45 pilot with a very skinny jet needle. just got her running tonight, took her for a rip down the street and she's mean. lots of torque no harsh power band like my old tecate motor. kind wait to get her totally dialed in and the bassani on. theres a few pics of my build in the need help with rings thread. she's a little dirty from my last ride before for i swapped motor but it looks hott!!!! i'm gonna change the grill and frame color soon i also have a new oem front and rear fenders on the way..

If you are doing new OEM fenders, you should consider the tank skin from DC plastics...

Looks good! That Hi-Flight seat is thashed. Trike looks way better with the new bars instead of the "ape hangers". Good work on the engine, nice and clean. Frame would be nice in white, (scooteroo clone) with a green rad guard. sweeeeeeeeeeeeet ride!

Nice work bud!!
It's great to hear that the work you did gave you a fast and manageable powerplant... 2 strokes can be a light switch but the right combination makes them VERY rideable!!
I'm honestly surprised I don't have a GREEN machine, shame they never made a nasty 4 stroke... I use to have Kawaski posters all over the place when I was a kid, I just loved the GREEN!!

It Is But My Head Gasket Was Leaking A Little Compression Into The Coolant. I Tightened It Down And It Seemed To Fix It. But I'm Gonna Do Another New Head Gasket On It For Safety. Whats A Good Brand Of Gasket. I Have A Veshra I Think I'll Try Cometic This Time And Get A Higher Quality Torque Wrench

took her out for a test and tune. she's running lean, need bigger jets and maybe race fuel. i have a 250 main and 45 pilot and i guess those are too small for this motor. my buddy that works at a kawi shop says to start with a 310 main and work down from there. also the head gasket is still leaking, is it possible i put it in upside down or does that matter

My head gasket also leaked when I rebuilt the motor. A buddy told me to paint it white( I don't know if color matters, I used silver) and let it get tacky before installing. This worked great. I even reused the gasket that was leaking.

When it comes to head gaskets I usually try to go with OEM.

Imagine if the KX top end had a better port job. But I also thought it worked very well the way it was.
I guess that's one way to introduce yourself and meet new neighbors.
