I happened to stumble upon this beast, the outside is in tuff shape but everything else is tight. It has a brand new 88 kit in it and Im just trying to get it tunned in. The carb is being a real b$#%ch, od ball sized jets and crappy gaskets are a pain. But it should be runnin strong real soon.
Not sure yet what to do for a pipe on it, any ideas?

I don't know what your budget is, but try looking at sterdy pipes. They have a pipe that goes below the foot pedals and a pipe that goes above the foot pedals. They have a website atc70.com or you can find their pipes on ebay. They specialize in 70s and have some nice things. The exhausts are stainless.

Should be able to get jets for that sheng wey carb through trail bikes. The 20mm I had on my CRF 50 used Keihn- style jets.
Stay away from the Cobra pipes. Mine hardly fits, I had to cut and stack copper o-rings to keep my pipe from leaking at the head.

Yeah Ive been looking into the sterdy pipes, maybe when I get some decent cash flow Il order one up. What just makes me wonder is why wouldnt the carb be fairly close to dialed in when it all comes in one engine package? I understand its not going to be the same for all altitudes and what not but you would think it would be a better start then what its at to start with?

Have you bought your second 70 yet? They seem to be pretty lonely until you buy your second one. How can you race your friends unless you have a second 70? Once you have one, you'll have another. Part of the club membership is having more than one. And unlike wives or girlfriends, 70s don't mind if you have more than one or if you ride different ones in the same day.
