250R cylinder nuts

What size nuts are used for the cylinder studs on an 84 250r? i am sick and tired of buying the wrong nuts for this thing!!! ive tried 7/16 and 3/8s, my buddy gave me some and they didnt work, my other buddy gave me the right ones but he only had 3, so im going to get 4 new ones but i dont know which to get! the 3/8 fine thread were the closest, they will start to thread but then they will stop so they arent the right size. are they metric? please help! :(

They are Metric.

i belive its 10mm threads and 14mm wrench end.

These bikes are made in japan EVERYTHING on them is metric.

Yeah its a 10mm thread and 14mm wrench.

To be safe, on the trikes, most is a 10mm ratchet, 12mm ratchet and 14mm ratchet for most bolts =)

You can completely disassemble a trike with a 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 17, 21mm socket set and corresponding wrenches.

and of course a phillips head

a good trick is that the standard sockets that are slightly smaller than their metric counterpart work wonders on the older slightly rounded nuts and botls.

the cylinder nuts are 10mm 1.25 pitch, so are just about every 10mm nut/bolt on the bike. The other common sizes are 8mm 1.25 and 6mm 1.00. The master cylinder covers and throttle screws are 3mm or 4mm. The axle end nuts are 20mm 1.50(85/86 250r/350x), 18mm 1.50(almost all others), swingarm and front axle is 14mm1.25, flywheel nut(250r) is 12mm 1.25 and so are the linkage bolts for the 85/86 250r. Most of the motor mount bolts/nuts are 10mm 1.25 or 12mm 1.25.
