I just pulled off my headlight and removed the burned out bulb. Weird looking bulb. Where can I get another? Is there anything at O'reillys that will fit? Or is this a Honda only part?
What kind of bulb is it, does it have an official designation?
Thanks in advance,
Doug

ebay or www.bikebandit.com i beleive they also make a bulb upgrade for the 200x style light that is way brighter. I think sylvania has a silverstar bulb for it.

I see Bikebandit has it as a 12v/60w for the stock bulb from the oem parts. Is that an h4 bulb? With the wide base and the 3 prongs to fit the attachment point or bulb holder.
Thanks,
Doug

you have to check the bulb on your bike and make sure it's matched up. not sure what your seeing, and i myself don't have a 200x "yet" ;) but the 200x has the same bulb as the 350x and 250es/sx

350x bulbs are different than the 200x

I just tried this this morning with my wiring harness. A Philips H4 I had lying around from a car I used to have works. Its a 12v 55/60w.

Rob thanks for sharing this info. Now I can go to the parts store and buy a bulb.

The only thing is, it is VERY dim. Like it does nothing for you if you are riding in the dark. A flashlight taped to the handlebars would be better.

Is the oem one brighter, maybe because a car bulb isn't getting enough juice? Or is the 200x light just dim in general?

no,it should be brighter than a flashlight.what bulb do you run in the tail light?the alternator puts out 60w at 5000 rpm's.check your connections.

I put a new stator in mine, and its bright even at idle. I used a standard halogen bulb from the auto parts store. They had ones that look just like what came out.

Was yours dim before the new stator? About how much did it run you?

I re-wired my tail light with a trailer fixture and ran wires to both sides. When the high beam is on the running light in the trailer bulb is on. When the low beam is on the brake light in the trailer bulb is on. The system works and protects the headlight bulb.

Grizzlypeg, what kind of auto bulb did you get?

The bulb looked just like the original, some sort of Halogen bulb, cost me around $12 at PartSource. The stator was around $40 from Rickystator on ebay. Before changing the stator, the light was simply a glow at idle. With the new stator, its bright at idle and higher revs. You have to be handy with a soldering iron to install the stator. You have to solder it to the old wires inside the side cover. No big deal, but its not a simple drop in project. Sure worth it though.

I might have to look into that. Mine is just dim orange pretty much all the time
