Spent 300 on a 350x

Saw it on craigslist for 1k w/ trailer, gave the guy a call and asked if he would separate, said yes after some prodding and told me he wanted 550 for it. Got in the truck with some tools and was off. 3 hours later im there and he is not, waited about 20min and he showed up, knocked 50.00 off for my time. Then he couldnt get it started, so he knocked off 200. It has perfect compression, nothing but a headlight missing, shroud, tool box door and a few bolts. Its setup for the dunes. Rear plastics have some cracks...no surprise there, front is good, good bearings, exhaust header is rusty, but no holes. Trans shifts fine, clutch engages good, he spray bombed some of it...grr but I can get that off.

In all for 300.00 and 5 hours of time, not a bad deal. Gave me some new boots that are my size because they didnt fit him, lol. Dune flag and got a ATV tag up to July 2010 when the current runs out.

In all... I think I made the right choice.

I think I may go with a Full white and powder blue 350x or a dark blue and black... dunno yet.

Looks like a great deal to me! It's amazing what some people do with a spray can of paint. It's almost like he was mad at it at one time or something.:lol:

Yeah got it to run at the gas station around the corner.. apparently the guy must have forgotten to turn the gas back on.. oops for him.

Rode it around the parking lot there.. after like 10 kicks!!! Good god its hard to kick over, I throw all my 130lbs on it and sometimes I just stand on the kicker! But once it got going... she flew, almost had me under her. I thought my 86 200x was powerful.. god damn this thing rocks!

Try adjusting the kickstart decompression cable. That should fix it.

around here, you couldnt srore a roller for 300, especially a 350x. I had to give 1300.00 for mine, and it was by no means mint. What a score!! "130lbs" my dog weighs more than that. What are you 15. You better start doing some wrist curls if you want to hang on to that thing. good luck with it.

I weigh a buck 35 and i have no problem hanging onto an R and hopfully one day a 350X i got a lead on one with a blown motor that the guy painted purple
it also has another motor bought from a swap meet hope to snag it for like 500

Thanks all, before I do the teardown im bringing the 350x and the 250sx up to eastern WA to rip around on. I did find my 250sx has a oil leak around the rocker box though =\ and I dont want to go out there and leave my GF, so unless some quick gasket gel will hold for now, im SOL on the trikes.
