I see posts asking what size carb someone has on their 350X, but don't understand why it would be any different than any other. Did they come with different ones? Are they all 31mm keihins?

What if a guy wanted to get a Mikuni Flatside, what size would you get? and what does flatside mean?

If you wanted a new carb would it be best and cheapest to get a 400ex or 300ex new carb or get a new Mikuni? The mikuni site doesn't tell much about choosing a carb for different applications. Any input appreciated.

Im the one that was asking the size of the carb. I asked that question becuse this is my fist 350x and dont know a hole bunch about them. I want to order a custom K&N filter for it now. so i was hoping someone knew the size of the stock carb. This trike is soon to be on alki so ill be changing the carb to a diffrent one. What size aftermarket carbs are being run out there????? DONT BE SHY!!!! lets hear it! ;)

I agree, LETS HEAR IT!

the only way i knew the stock was a 31mm was from the spec pages on 3WW. I want to know what some people are running too and see what my options are.

I too am interested in this topic. My honda service manual says the carb is a 31mm, but the mags and other sources say 33. If in fact the carb is a 31, then I think a 400ex carb with the accelerator pump (35.5 mm)would be a nice upgrade, especially if you could score one cheap off ebay.

the manual is a misprint it comes with a 34mm (i measured ) carb.
flatside carbs do not work well with four strokes.
there are severall options on carbs for the 350X depending on your budget and your motor mods.
a cheap carb for stock to slightly modified motors is the keihin 36mm PE. around 140.00. for a more modifeid motor and big bores the next step is 38mm PE at around 170.00. if money and performance are no problem the a keihine FCR 39mm is the way to go but now your up around 300.00 then there is the eldebrock quicksilver at around 350.00. there are a couple of others (like the 400ex golf cart) out there but those 4 are the main ones used

Thanks bill, how good is the stock 400ex carb compared to say the 36 pe? I see the 400ex carbs go for 70 bucks or under all the time on ebay. Also heard that if you disable or remove the choke on the golfcart carbs that they are a bit better.
