Well about 3 weeks ago I got a engine from my friend in Iowa for 100 shipped (didnt charge me), this one was off a 250es. Last week I removed the old engine after 5 hours(will explain)! Got the new one in 3 days ago and fired her up. Runs great, no sputtering, took 2 kicks. I saw no smoke and the oil checked in good.

Right now I am waiting on my parts from Honda before I buy anything else. All the cables were shot except for the throttle. The dash had redneck wiring done for heated grips and a horn  I still need a good front tire/rim. Rear fenders had one crack by the trunk on each side because of another rednecked item. I welded them and will polish them soon. Tank had a **** load of rust, so I cleaned that and coated it. Finally I just need a front rim and time and I am set! There was a speedo on it, but that was unsavable, but the gearbox is good and I will take a snowmobile speedo and place that on it.

GF has the camera for work today, so in a few hours I shall post up some pics. I am glad to say I saved another trike from the scrap heap.

The old engine was so rusted from the wrong bolts, water inside of it. That it wouldnt kick over, wouldnt come out and stunk like a skunk. The bolts had turned to rust and each one of them broke after a week with PB blaster. Finally I said **** it, hoisted it up on the side and beat it until the rust broke and engine came out. No mounts were broken or tweaked thankfully. But I did fix a crack in the frame I believe the frame will break before my weld does again!

I do need an exhaust... DC wanna sell me that Bassani exhaust for some 86 200x parts I still have plus cash? Or... just have the 200x parts and still sell me it?

Sounds like it now, but after the cables she will look presentable, haha.

Anyone have any advice on the rear differential? Anything I can do to lube it or seal it better?

Stay out of water completely. Be sure to run a bead of silicone on the driveshaft boot before installing. If its an 85 you will never keep the water out.

I live in the Pacific Northwest man! Stay out of water is IMPOSSIBLE! I did a leak down test on the diff, should I seal the holes?

Im going out in the snow soon, will it be safe then.
